I was just wondering if anyone else has had any problems with a medical miscarriage? I found out just over two weeks ago that i was pregnant. I had to go for an early scan as I had no idea how far gone I would be due to being on the pill for the last five years and having carried on taking it for a couple of months without allowing myself to have a period. I went and got the pregnancy confirmed a week last tuesday and went for the scan a week ago today. the scan showed that i was indeed pregnant and with twins(!) but there also seemed to be some sort of problem that they weren't too sure about. So i got referred to the hospital for another scan just to double check. went on monday just gone and it turns out that i have had a missed miscarriage. i chose to have a medical miscarriage out of 3 options, took the first tablet on monday and had to go in to hospital on wednesday and take the next set of tablets. i bled alot and passed alot of what apparently was blood clots. had to stay over night because I was losing too much blood. Anyway they were going to perform a D&C the next day but for some reason changed their minds and sent me home. I've got to go back in 2 weeks and have a scan and if I haven't passed the sac by then, then I will indeed have to have a D&C anyway. I had already looked up medical miscarriage and couldn't find anyone else who had had problems with it? I've been home now since thursday and I am still bleeding and passing clots but as far as I can tell nothing else? The hospital never informed me that this could happen otherwise I would probably have gone for the D/C in the first place. The whole point of having the medical miscarriage was because I didn't think it would be as intrusive and I didn't want to wait around for ages waiting to see if it would happen naturally. It seems that this will be the case after all. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this sort of problem as I am quite worried and I really don't want to have the D/C. Plus this is probably going to deter me from going back to work which I know work won't be too happy about!!! Is this normal or am I just really unlucky?

sorry to hear about your lost and all the trouble your having. i also just had a miscarriage but i did have a D&C and did not have to go through it natural. if you read lower in the forum there is a message titled "taking to long" i think that it would be good for you to read, because it seems that you may be going through the same thing...this will never be easy for any of us women who may need to go through this. a baby is such a great gift and why it would be taking away we will never know. You seem to be "acting" very strong for your daughter and from that i can tell your a great mom...please don't forget to take time for YOU to cry and feel the pain. that is ok...god bless you and your family :)

thanks alot for that =) i had quite nasty pains today and i passed what i think must be a sac, so fingers crossed all will be ok when i go back the hospital, hopefully there will be no need for a D/C. oh and i dont have a daughter, this would of been my first baby, or babies! =) I think if i have any trouble in the future i would just go for the D/C, the hospital didn't tell me the implications of having medical management, apparently its a way of saving money so they don't encourage people to have D/Cs as much as they are more expensive! oh i live in england by the way...NHS free health care and all that! did u find having a D/C easier to cope with in a way? instead of having to wait for things to happen naturally? xxx

so sorry about the mix up, i believe it was the other lady that had a daughter...this would have been my 1st too... i don't know what it's like having a natural miscarriage so i can't say it is easier, but from what i have ready it seems to be.... the hardest thing for me was that i did not know i had a miscarriage, so for 5 weeks i walked around thing the baby was still growing and buying stuff, just enjoying t he happiness, but come to find out my baby stopped growing at 7 weeks....i guess with a natural you know it's happening, but it can't be easy what your going through, i would not want to go through that... i had my D&C on friday, it all went well, i'm not even bleeding after just spotting. i do have some cramps, but i think i hurt more in my heart and mind than physical... i hope your days get better and your pain starts to fade, it has been a week for me, people say it gets better, i just don't know when..again, i'm here if you need me you can e-mail me @ daldana1@satx.rr.com
