A friend of mine at work had one a little while back with her second child, she took if I remember right about 2 weeks off work and just layed in bed relaxing because the DR thought it was best for her. She managed ok and has a little girl now.

I'm sorry I'm posting so late. I do have some experience with a threatened miscarriage. Just before having my doctor confirm my last pregnancy as being an inevitable miscarriage I was told I was having a threatened miscarriage. He explained to me it meant that although my cervix had not opened I was still bleeding and that was a threat to my pregnancy. He told me not all threatened miscarriages led to inevitable miscarriages, but it was important to continue to monitor my body until we could know for sure. I chose to think positively and give my body the benefit of the doubt and not focus on the possibility of losing our child. It was stressful and disheartening, but a few days later we got the news a miscarriage was inevitable.
